Official Name: PAWN Advanced 1
Armor Type is a name for reinforced armored suits for Governors. It is a sealed work suit with armored exterior and artificial muscles used to withstand extreme environments. It still has a life-support system installed as conventional suits did, enabling it to operate for extended periods of time in contaminated areas such as around a Crystal Reactor.
A1 is an improved model that was developed after an early model called the Pawn.
Although originally created as advanced level equipment for soldiers, its features such as enhancing physical capabilities and various self-contained functions attracted attention as armor for Governors. Thus the A1 was developed with additional functions such as having a link with the AI, KARMA.
What differs most from normal dynamic armor is that the armor’s back unit is equipped with a regenerative energy pack charged by a HEXA G-R.A.M, which acts as a semi-permanent power source for the operation of the armor. HEXA G-R.A.M permeates the artificial muscle fibers inside the suit, greatly expanding the Governor’s strength and mobility.
Pawn A1 is currently manufactured and supplied in large quantities by a group of corporations called the Liberty Alliance. It is not distributed to the general public, and is difficult to obtain for individuals who do not belong to the military.
Pawn A1 was developed based on the concept of "man-machine oneness" and has gained strength to be able to fight alongside Hexa Gear in Zoatex mode.
As specs of Hexa Gear became more focused on agility than having heavy armor, Governors also went through changes in response to keep up with the machines using physical enhancements and building toughness. Governors must be soldiers who fight alongside the machine–not just a normal pilot.
The model’s standard weapons are the Hyper Vibration Sword that vibrates its blade and cuts like a saw, and the Assault Rifle.
Although they appear to be the same, minor changes are made depending on the manufacturer to improve the power assist and various other functions using artificial muscles.
